I joined the kick start program back in April and wanted to wait a month to write a review so I had the opportunity to experience the entire months workouts and nutrition. I can say without hesitation that it's amazing! I train with Eric and he's been great. He's very accommodating with schedules and also teaches you about exercise and nutrition. I never knew that I was waiting too long to eat protein post workout! He also recommends supplements which is something I would have never looked into on my own. The workouts are hard - no doubt about it but that's what makes the program so great. I will continue to do the kick start program and recommend it to anyone who wants to take their workouts to the next level.
I've had five ACL reconstructions and thought that I wouldn't be able to go to the gym regularly, do weights regularly or run regularly anymore. Plus, after so many surgeries, I lost a lot of my passion and drives for taking care of my body. But once I started at True Grit, I noticed a major change in my motivation. I loved working out again. My knee has never been in better shape because of the muscles I'm building around it, I haven't had pain since I started at True Grit... which is a huge triumph for me. Plus, today, I tried the Boxing class with Chance which was so much fun. It was an awesome workout, had the perfect dose of a "challenge" and I learned a lot about form- I've never done a boxing class so I knew nothing! But he was very attentive and with a small group, it was a lot like personal training. All in all, I have really fallen in love with True Grit and would recommend it to anyone from athletes to the every day person trying to improve their health! Love!!
Every morning when I’m done with training I have a great day from my anxiety and depression. I suffer from anxiety and depression and other things. The training have my dopamines flying everywhere. The days I don’t have training I can tell the difference in my mood even with medication. It’s a great trainers and they know what they doing. Even if it looks difficult every day you find your self getting stronger. It’s never boring, it’s never the same exercise. So your body is being challenge everyday which result into stronger mind, stronger body, energy and weight loss.
The struggle is real, as they say, to get myself motivated to consistently hit the gym. I'm not someone who yearns to go get their sweat on and has that natural drive to stave off the bloat from those extra beers you had last weekend. So when I gave True Grit Fit a try, I didn't go in expecting to like it. I thought I'd give it a shot and that it'd be a good change of pace for a few weeks but not much else. But TGF is different. As some others have said in their comments, it's really like a community. You start to recognize the same faces at your workouts every day and look forward to going. The plan and stations Mike and Letitia (and Brad, Eric, and BJ) put together are always changing and if you go consistently really give you a complete full body workout. The 50-second intervals keep things moving while allowing you to go all-out each session and keep your focus. So if you're on the fence, you need to give it a try. Mike and Letitia will have you convinced in just a few days and you'll see results pretty quick. Plus you might make some new friends along the way.
True Grit Fit offers one of the most intense, effective, and efficient programs around. Mike, Eric, BJ, Letitia, and the entire True Grit family are excellent at motivating the members and providing high-octane work-out regimens which are different every time, keeping it engaging! My wife and I are in our second month and we are loving it! For the last 12 years I’ve been trudging in and out of the traditional gym 2-4 times a week doing the standard exercises and routine, which is boring and ineffective (for myself at least). At the end of every hour spent in the TGF gym, I’m left covered in sweat, panting, utterly exhausted. It’s intense and grueling, and I always leave satisfied. If you’ve been unhappy with the “standard” routine, then you need to get into a session with TGF now!
Before i came back to TGF I lost all my confidence, but since i started working out at TGF again i have gained it back. The workouts are challenging, but self paced so you can push yourself to your own limits. The trainers are amazing. They not only push you, but encourage you and make you go that extra rep you didn't think you could achieve. I feel stronger, faster, leaner each day. They will help give you nutrition advice with some of the programs they offer to help you reach your goals and take things to the next level. The environment is amazing. Mike and Letitia are the very best! I have quickly become addicted to the bootcamp classes because they are fast-paced, fun and different every time. Since starting with True Grit Fit a couple months ago, I feel great and have so much more energy. Mike and Letitia care about your goals and make you feel like family

Mike, Letitia, and Ryan run an amazing gym. This has been the best investment I could have made. I have been a boot camp and PT client for just over 3 months and have lost 20 lbs. and have gained so much more. I love being a part of the TGF Family!

Mike Tedford should be the standard for all fitness instructors. Anyone can complete a certification course and teach you some exercises, but few actually understand the human body and the differences they all possess. Mike Tedford is one of those few. If you are looking to get pushed to new levels from someone who makes it a personal mission to see you cross the next line, you need to be at True Grit Fit.
If you think your in shape, think again. Come to one boot camp class and see what your made of. I dare you! This is an insane workout and I love the trainers here.
A lot of fun, great for all levels. Mike is so energetic and encouraging, really pushes you to your highest abilities. Definitely see results after just a few weeks!
I finally made it out last night to try out TGF's bootcamp and I'm so glad I did! It was a killer workout that pushed me to my limits and was FUN. Lots of variety in the exercises, great atmosphere and great trainers. TGF is doing great things... can't wait to see what the future has in store for this kick ass new gym.
A few months ago I was feeling so out of shape, tired, and weak.. My moods were pretty low too with stress. So, I started with PT and moved into the Boot Camp classes. Im now at a point were I feel really good about myself, and I feel much stronger! Even in the short period of time I've been working with Mike, I've noticed a vast improvement in my body image as well. Mike really cares about where you are at in life and where you want to be. I love & look forward to the awesome work outs that he designs for you to reach your goals. Letitia is so sweet and caring and she's even set up a neat system that makes it so easy to sign up for classes. Jax Tedford is my favorite - He's the TGF pup that is the happiest of all of them to see you! I could keep writing about all the things I love about TGF but I have to go get ready for boot camp class!

Mike is the best! He truly cares about you as a person and wanting you to be healthy. He makes it fun and gives you the confidence to push yourself to the next level and do things you never thought you could do. He did this for both my mother and myself. My mom has an autoimmune disease that was attacking the muscles around the trunk of her body. At one point she could not move her arms up above her head or get up from a chair without help. Mike came to her every week to give her a new set of exercises that would help her regain her strength. After a year of working with her and the doctor's finding the right medication, my mom can once again enjoy the simple pleasures of life like going to the beach and playing in the sand with her grandchildren. Mike believes in you when there are times you don’t and encourages you until you remember that you really do have it in you. He is very smart about knowing what the next thing to do is. You just know that your success matters to him and that makes such a difference.
I prefer group workouts for the energy, teamwork, and competitive nature.. have tried dozens in Tampa over the past 2 years. Mike & Leticia have a genuine & effective team/family hardcore fitness environment. They have mastered this formula, I'm truly pleased and done searching! TGF is my new fit family.
